We at Strawberry Isle Marine Research Society are seeking help in a time of financial hardship. Despite our best efforts to adapt and recover, the impacts of COVID-19 have been long-lasting and devastating to our organization’s operations and programs. We have experienced unexpected and significant losses in donations over the past 3 years and have been out-competed for many of the grants we rely on. We are now in urgent and dire need of funding if we are to continue operating in our communities in any capacity. We now look to you, our supporters, for help in this time of need - donate now and help us pave the way to better times!

Strawberry Isle Marine Research is a non-profit, charitable society based on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Every dollar donated makes a big difference for our small but passionate team of ocean conservationists. As a registered charity (BN: 890584543RR0001) all donations are eligible for tax deductions.

IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS:

There are many different ways to contribute to our work! We also accept a variety of in-kind contributions including volunteer work, equipment, transportation, fundraising goods, and space to operate. Here’s a list of our current needs & wants:

  • Office & storage space

  • Vessels/Captains for field research

  • Retail outlets for our merchandise

  • Donated goods for fundraisers

  • Field guide books

  • Bones for Build-A-Whale collection (acquired legally)

  • Field gear: Binoculars, hip waders, rain gear, wetsuits, kayak gear, dry bags, pelican cases, rite-in-the-rain

  • Research equipment: Hydrophone, audio recording device, plankton tow, cameras/ camera traps

  • Office supplies: ink, paper, rulers, clipboards, notepads, etc.
